In 2017, the citizens of Lorengechora, a village in Karamoja, worshipped a tree. The name of Jesus was unknown. Today, the property where that tree lives is owned by the Lorengechora Church. Jaala Christian Academy and Karamoja Bible and Vocational School (KBVS) also sit on this property. Prior to this, the people of Lorengechora had been displaced because of violence. Jaala means, “they returned.” The name is appropriate, and the needs are great.
- With more than 500 students, Jaala and KBVS are always in need of food. The monthly budget is $2,000.
- Jaala desperately needs classrooms to accommodate these students, whose parents have sent them to the only school in the area to be educated, housed and fed. The cost to build a three-classroom building is $7,500.00. Each one will be built by the students and teachers of KVBS.
- Jaala Christian Academy needs 50 desks that cost $1,250 or $25 each.
